St. John's Catholic School
“Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and service are the rule.” (CCC 2223) The role of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is to support the role of parents as the “first and foremost educators of their children.” (FC, 36.)
To that end, St. John’s Parish supports a fully accredited, Pre-K through 12th Grade Catholic School that offers a full range of academics, sports and extracurricular activities. The school’s primary mission is to develop students who achieve academic excellence, live as productive and responsible citizens, and exhibit Christian values in the Catholic tradition. Founded in 1879, Beloit, Kansas, is one of the smallest communities in the nation with a K-12 Catholic School supported by one parish.
