If you have questions about the Catholic Church or know someone who is interested in learning more about God and the Catholic Church invite them to consider attending the OCIA program at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Maybe they were baptized Catholic, but never received the other Sacraments of Initiation.
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) recently underwent a name change from the former RCIA to better reflect the original Latin name and to emphasize the ongoing development of candidates and catechumens in the faith formation process. The OCIA process at St. John's kicks off with an initial "inquiry" period where people come to ask questions and share thoughts about why they are interested in the church. Following this initial period of weeks, participants can discern whether they would like to continue meeting to learn more about what the Catholic Church teaches and the possibility of joining the Church, or completing Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil at the end of March 2027.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the OCIA process or signing up to join us when we begin in September, have them fill out this online form St. John's OCIA 2026-2027. Classes begin Monday September 14th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm and will take place in the parish office conference room.
